Indeed, being the Ivorian political and administrative capital city, Yamoussoukro provides many career prospects for foreigners, provided the required expertise is not available locally. Economy

Yamoussoukro's economy relies on three main pillars, namely agriculture, hydrocarbon and the tertiary sector. In fact, agriculture and fisheries many a significant contribution to the local Gross Domestic Product (GDP), that is up to a half. The city also hosts a cotton processing factory, wood processing industries, handicraft rice treatment units, as well as hydrocarbon stocking units. The tertiary sector, for its part, provides many small jobs.

On the other hand, transports, trade, finance and tourism make the greatest contribution to the local economy.

Career prospects

You are likely to be hired in many fields in Yamoussoukro, namely in finance, trade, tourism, industry, etc. Foreigners having high qualifications and language skills can also be hired by schools, high schools and colleges. Indeed, many teaching positions are available in the city.

Many other new jobs have been developing over the years in Yamoussoukro. Internet jobs such as web design, web developing, etc, are quite popular nowadays, just like in most Western countries. Finally, the presence of hotels, restaurants, museums, and other tourism infrastructure, is a real advantage for job seekers.

Find a job

Although Yamoussoukro is the Ivorian administrative capital, job adverts are rarely published online. Therefore, it is best to be on the spot to find a job there. Consider sending spontaneous job applications to companies operating across the city. Networking may also help if you have friends or contacts on the spot. You are also advised to check out classified ads in local newspapers.
