Measurement units in Mauritius

Mauritians rarely use square meters. Instead, you'll often hear measurements like arpent, square foot, perch, and toise.

To help you understand better, here are some common units of measurement used in Mauritius:

Length:

1 inch = 2.54 centimeters

1 foot = 12 inches = 30.48 centimeters

1 yard = 3 feet = 36 inches = 91.44 centimeters

1 toise = 6 feet = 185.94 centimeters

Area:

1 square toise = 3.5277 square meters

1 square perch = 25.2929 square meters

1 square arpent = 3418.74 square meters
