The city of Agadir offers a wide variety of housing. If you are moving to this Moroccan city and you plan to stay there for some time, you will have a choice of furnished or unfurnished accommodation, including flats and villas. Take the time to determine the kind of lifestyle you prefer, depending on your budget and your family situation. But no matter the type of apartment or villa you choose, you are sure to enjoy living in this beautiful beach town.

Find housing in Agadir

You can find Agadir housing ads in local newspapers, on the internet, or by visiting real estate agencies in the city. If you are already in the city, you can stroll around the residential area that interests you to find out about the lifestyle of its inhabitants, and identify signs that advertise homes for sale or rent. AnotherÌýgood way to find a place is by checking social media group and post, mostly Facebook. You can also find flat-sharing offers for expats.

There are many expatriate communities in Agadir, so make sure to check their local offices (if any) and cultural centres. There you can meet people who will help you get settled and find housing.

Residential areas in Agadir

Many expats have settled in the city of Agadir over the past few years. Some neighbourhoods have a high concentration of expatriates, including French and Swiss expats. The Swiss village and the mixed areas of Agadir host consulates as well as a variety of modern housing, most of which are villas.

In the district of Founty, also known as the Bay of Palms, you will find great hotels, villas, and tourist residences where you can stay if you are making a short trip to Agadir, as well as a few residential buildings. In Dakhla, you will find modern buildings, villas, and more affordable housing.

Rent prices in Agadir

In Agadir, you can rent a one-bedroom apartment from 3,000 dirhams per month and an apartment with a garage and a balcony from 4,700 dirhams. For a three-bedroom apartment, you will need at least 6,000 dirhams and at least 10,000 dirhams for a five-room apartment. You can rent a villa from 11,500 dirhams. Rent can reach 30,000 dirhams monthly, depending on the size of the villa and the level of comfort.

ÌýGood to know:

Note that you will not find studios in the city of Agadir. However, for your short-term stays, or if you are looking for low-budget accommodation, you can stay in a guest house, affordable hotels, or holiday villas, or share a flat.

Lease procedures

Once you find rental housing in Agadir, it is necessary to negotiate the price with the landlord. The price doesn't include water and electricity bills. The rent contract is then drawn up and has to be notarized. The lease usually lasts for one year, so it has to be renewed. You will also have to pay a tax for the rent, which could be equivalent to a month's rent. The last part is to put the utility bills in your name. To do this, you fill out a form, which then has to be signed by the landlord and present it to the utility company's local office (you can also pick up the form from their counter).
