One of the most interesting aspects of living in Ho Chi Minh City is the fact that theres never a shortage of activities to do on weekdays or weekends. There's so much to do here in fact, that it can be challenging to say no out of fear of missing out. No matter the time of day, some unique event or exciting gathering will be taking place throughout town. Here are a few spots in the city where expats can find things to do that might cater to their interests.

Indika Saigon

Throughout the week, most of the events are a bit on the tame side. Seven nights a week, expats who love a bit of live music and chilled vibes will love to spend an evening at . Despite its central location, Indika Saigon feels like a natural escape from the busy city; the backyard vibes is a cosy space adorned with large trees, community-style picnic tables and fairy lights, creating a relaxing ambience. Indika Saigon is well-known throughout the city for its Free Flow Fridays, in which expats and locals can enjoy bottomless drinks of beer or a rum punch made in-house.

The Hive/The Hive Villa

Those who are less keen on drinking-centric events will love to swing through The Hive or The Hive Villa for any events throughout the week. Both of the District 2 locations mainly function as co-working spaces, which is perfect for expats who are digital nomads or freelancers. Each Tuesday, The Hive hosts 'Try Out Tuesdays,' each week, in which people interested in becoming members of the space can test it out. Throughout the rest of the week, The Hive and The Hive Villa often organise events such as yoga retreats, crafting afternoons and paint and wine evenings. The Hive Villa has a pool, which is used for parties and other social events, too. Check out and Facebook groups to learn more about upcoming events!

Saigon Outcast

Another space in District 2 is . Not only does this place double as an event space complete with a full bar and unique menu, but it's also home to a climbing wall. Most Thursday nights, Saigon Outcast hosts an extremely popular movie night; the genres shown vary. Get there early, as the tables fill up quickly! Saigon Outcast is also quite popular during the weekends as it is home to the Thao Dien Farmer's Market and most large events that take place throughout town, such as the ever-popular bi-annual beer festival.

La Holista

Expats keen on a healthier, holistic lifestyle will love . Not only does the business hawk its clean, vegan food, the owners also host events encouraging others to learn how to create meals of their own. Some previous events have included, but not limited to, one-pot vegan recipes, a sourdough making workshop, a kombucha brewing class and vegan desserts. La Holista also offers monthly hikes which are consistently fully booked due to the fact both expats and locals are keen on escaping the busy city for a bit of fresh air and greenery. Expats should note that La Holista's hikes and events are limited to weekends for the time being.

While these aren't the only businesses hosting events throughout the weekdays and weekends in Ho Chi Minh City, these locations are a few of the most popular in town. Those relocating to town should check Facebook's local events or Meetups to see what else is happening.
