Things to do alone with your partner or with friends in Vienna
Depending on the season the offer might vary, but there will always be something new and exciting for you to see.
A classic single weekend in Vienna looks probably like this: you come home from work, then you take a shower and leave within half an hour. You meet friends, go on a tinder date or have a romantic dinner with your love. Or you stay at home, order pizza and enjoy a relaxed, one-on-one "Netflix and Chill" with yourself.
In general, it is common in Vienna to have dinner on a Friday night and go out after. The countless bars and clubs around the city are going to make the decision pretty hard, though. Most of the time, you will find yourself debating with friends whether to go to a bar or go full-on crazy at "." This club is hands down one of the best ones you will find in the city if you like techno and a typical "Berlin-style" crowd.
If you plan on taking it slower, you could have dinner with your sweetheart in the 6th or 7th district (take a look at our article "Eating out in Vienna"), then move on to the , like mentioned in our previous article "Things to do on weekdays in Vienna." To end the evening, you could sip a cocktail in one of the bars close by .
When you are planning a fun "girls or guys night out," then definitely skip the cinema part and move right on to a bar. Enjoy some pre-drinks before you are actually starting your night. The younger crowd of Vienna usually meets at someone's apartment. They might cook together and drink until right before moving on to a club or bar, where they stay until very late in the morning, as usually, clubs do not close before 4 or 5 am. Some even stay open until 8 am or longer if they are so-called after-hour clubs.
If you have a family and kids, this might not be the best option for your weekend plan. At least your partner would not appreciate it too much probably.
