Riyadh is one of the biggest and most beautiful cities in Saudi Arabia, with quite a bit to offer to expats in their free time. Whether you have settled in Riyadh alone, with your partner, or with your family, find out about some unique places to explore here. If you are looking for activities and social events, do not hesitate to check out social media (Instagram and TikTok are the most popular as of late). Most locations in Riyadh have an account to advertise for their activities.

Remember that Saudi Arabia's social life, particularly nightlife, is often centered around ³¦²¹´Úé²õ. There are multiple ³¦²¹´Úé²õ organizing social events. Whether you like concerts, board games, traditional music, arts, sports, or karaoke, you will be able to find a spot to meet like-minded people.You can also check out the and the online presence for more things to do. There are also some apps that will give you the opportunity to browse through events and book tickets, such as , the app from the Government Entertainment Authority.

Some companies offer one-day or overnight expeditions starting from Riyadh. These will typically include transportation, scenic views and dinner before getting you back to Riyadh. This can be a practical way to discover new places and socialize.

Visit Al Masmak Fort

Situated in downtown Riyadh, Al Masmak Fort is a breathtaking spot made of mud and mud-block that has a significant role to play in the Kingdom's history, especially in the recovery of Riyadh in 1902. Even today, Al Masmak Fort still has a significant influence in the nation's travel industry. This dazzling monument gives you a new chance to experience the recollections of the years when it transformed from a palace into a historical centre. It features an assortment of ancient weapons, ensembles, set-ups of a customary Saudi house and an exhibition of old photographs of spots and civic establishments of the Kingdom. Note that entrance to this magnificent architecture is free of charge.

Riyadh's Lantern Souk

After you get a portion of Saudi history, it's a great opportunity to do some shopping at the Deerah Souk. Souk is the Arabic designation for market or bazaar. The Deerah Souk is located simply behind the Masmak Fort. It is the ideal spot to purchase souvenirs for your family and companions back home. You can get anything there, including toys, magnets, key chains, scarfs, shawls, floor mats, lights, scented oils, clothing, cosmetic products, gold, spices and more.

Saudi National Museum

Located in the centre of Riyadh, the Saudi National Museum is free to visit and offers a glimpse into the history of the region. Geology, fossils and islamic traditions are set side by side for you to discover. It also hosts seasonal exhibitions. There is a big plaza outside where people gather and have picnics so that you can make it a full day outing.

Boulevard City and Boulevard World

Boulevard City is located in the northwest of Riyadh. The entrance is free, and it is open all year round. It has a lot of arenas for entertainment, arcades, fountains and games. There are also a lot of shops. It has a food court offering a very large selection of fast food branches, while dining restaurants are located by the (artificial) lake. It is a very popular area to go and simply have a tour. It welcomes all ages. It opens every day from 4 pm, and you can also go there to have a walk in the evening. The area has a lot of venues and hosts events for sports, e-sports and concerts.

Just a block away from Boulevard City is Boulevard World. Renewed every winter, this destination offers a glimpse of various cultures from around the world. Each area will have a theme (Chinese, Mexican, Japanese, Spanish, Italian, French, Greek, Egyptian, Levant, Thai, and more) and will offer cultural events such as concerts but also shops and, of course, food. Boulevard World has an entrance fee. The entrance fee is more expensive on weekends. There are also paid attractions such as escape games, cinemas, and more.

Sky Bridge at the Kingdom Tower

If you're looking to take a panoramic view of Riyadh, head to the Sky Bridge. Situated on the 99th floor of Kingdom Tower, it is the third tallest building in Riyadh with a 56-meter sky bridge. It takes two fast lifts to reach the top. It offers a terrific view of the city both in the day and at night.

On the ground floor, there are shopping malls, restaurants and eateries. The Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh is also located at the Kingdom Center.

Visit the world's largest integrated farm

You heard it right! The world's biggest coordinated farm is found next to Riyadh. Al Safi Dairy Farm, located in Al Kharj, is a Guinness World Record Holder with an excess of 50,000 Holstein cows. When entering the farmland, vehicles are cleaned progressively. A representative of the organisation then welcomes guests and transfers them to their extensive transportation system. The first stop is the ranch. It can be an incredible experience for young children as they get to feed and pet animals.
