I'm a German-American dual, history dork and lover of papetries and all things Euro. I moved to Luxembourg and have enjoyed living in the vineyards, schlepping around Europe and discovering new gems.
I joined expat.com on 10 May 2010.
Working, learning German and Luxembourgish (yes, it is a language of its own)!
I live in the Moselle Valley, one of the most gorgeous in the world! The Luxembourgish people are also quite friendly, provided you can navigate into their circles!
It can sometimes be a bit uneventful, but you just have to stay in-the-know and seek events!
I was a student at the Sorbonne, sipping one too many espressos and skipping classes to visit Versailles and other places.
Paris is one of the most gorgeous cities in the world. I loved sitting in cafes, reading Mirbeau or a French magazine while drinking coffee and watching people. I loved visiting all the exhibitions, museums, etc. Paris keeps you occupied unlike any other.
It can be extremely lonely if you go there alone (and especially as an American right around the time Bush decided to invade Iraq.)
Working and studying!
The Midwest has a charm of its own!
The small-town mentality tends to creep into Columbus sometimes...
