I moved to the USA 28 years ago, via the Middle East where I stayed a few years. I was born and raised in Switzerland. I am ready to go back, be with my family whom I always missed a lot. However, having lived most of my adult years abroad, I am completely aware that I am an expat in my own country! I know I will miss English, the cultures, and it will be hard to be back, despite the positive sides. Even to my own family I am a little bit a foreigner, since they do not know the other cultures and places I am leaving behind. This is why I am seeking people who feel like me, in-between several cultures. I am a teacher and translator (certified with masters degree) and am looking for work naturally! Confidence and perseverance and a propensity for flexibility will grant me what I need. Yet, I'll be pleased to connect with other professionals who feel at home in two cultures - a 'grey' area that does not exactly exist in reality! In my spare time I read a lot - in several languages (I also know German and Hebrew) - and love ice and rock-climbing, hiking, camping - the outdoors in other words. I'd like to re-discover my own country - Switzerland, via walking and hiking! I also get involved in knitting, sewing, cooking and woodworking - have made my own Prairie Style furniture. Since my work (teach and translate) is intellectually demanding (which I love!) I tend to do lots of manual stuff too, to strike some sort of balance. As may be typical of expats, I am involved in multifaceted activities... but that may not always be seen with a kind eye by someone more sedentary... hence again, my presence on this website! I hope to find like-minded individuals! Keep smiling everyone!
