I am from u.s. but am a Vietnam veteran, I lived in Panama when I was young and there fell in love with tropical rainforests. I have also lived in Thailand during the Vietnam war. I lived in Okinawa, Japan , Germany while in the military. I love Asian ;countries and people. I will be there in about 6 months to retire and find a girlfriend and help her family and poor ;children. I am not rich though. I will only have about $1000.00 a month income and so want a nice studio apartment, maybe 1 bedroom. I want to join a gym also as I like to -exercise and bicycle. I chose Battambang because there are not so many tourists. I want to live away from too many tourists or expats and immerse myself in the villages and do some volunteer work from time to time..
