Why don't Vietnamese understand Vietnamese spoken by a foreigner? by I do believe

Having lived in Vietnam for 6 years and studied Vietnamese at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities it never ceases to amaze me that if I speak and pronounce a Vietnamese phrase perfectly to most Vietnamese, they don't understand me. ...

dasiavu

I really can't comprehend some of the arrogance and to be frank pure ignorance that is being wrote here on this subject from expats including the original poster who are somehow implying in no uncertain terms that it's the Vietnamese peoples ... Read More

CNN signal delay on K+/VSTV by Budman1

Yesterday morning the broadcast from CNN was delayed by 2hr 10m and it's been that way ever since. I've e-mail VSTV (twice) and also called 19001592 to try and find out what's happening but have yet to get a reply. Anybody receiving CNN ...

dasiavu

CNN is a propaganda mouthpiece for the US government. Off course it's going to be delayed in this country. It gives the Vietnamese time to block out any of the lies they spout about communist/socialist countries. Read More

Legal question in Vietnam - Gfriend cannot stay in my apartment?! by KiwiJas

Hi all I have been told by my apartment building that my girlfriend cannot stay the night in my building without having a marriage certificate. I find this strange as we have not had any problems at all in hotels. Is this still the law here?

dasiavu

Of course it's the law. Only people registered to a specific property can stay there. That's why you have to give your passport to the hotel manager when you stay there. Read More

There's no conspiracy. The simple fact is that your pronunciation is incorrect. It's as simple as that. I don't want to sound big headed but I can speak Vietnamese fluently and I rarely have a problem. My advice to you would be to stick ... Read More
