I am originally from a coastal city just outside Vancouver in Canada, and in 2011 we moved to Europe. We have a home in Budapest in Elizabethtown, and a home in Capestang southern France near the Mediterranean Sea. Expats living between two countries, Third Culture Kids trying to figure out where we belong.

Experiencia de expatriado
Currently living between France and Hungary, we are trying to carve out a life for our family. Travelling with two children, exploring the world, we hope to return to Hungary permanently.
Here we experienced traditional French culture and not the stereotype that Paris displays. Fresh, organic locally grown foods. Festival celebration. Warm hearted people.
We do not have a support system in place, and I miss my family.
We have a home in Elizabethtown, and we try to make it back twice a year. We tried to start a life in Budapest, on more than one occasion but the economy makes it very difficult.
I love everything about Hungary. The mono culture, the food, the music, the traditions, the close knit families, the metropolitan city with so much to do, the activities around lake Balaton
Economy, just the one thing
We were very prolific in Canada. Together we were on fire. Home, family, business. Vancouver is a beautiful place to live.
There is so much to do in Vancouver. Mountains, Ocean, vast open roads, opportunities, multicultural society...
It is stunningly beautiful but our life was at a premium. I felt that we were on a treadmill, nothing was ever enough. Bigger house, newer cars, better gym membership, designer clothes, spa trips.... The rat race was fast without value. I craved community.
