It's safe, warm (mostly) and allows one to pursue dreams. The medical service is second to none. The retirement funding scheme is good.
Australians are outwardly friendly but you will never be invited into their home. The houses are not built for the climate. It has become a horrendously expensive place to live.
Another car driving test . Travel . Printing
Cheaper housing at the time . Proximity to Europe . Company car . Boom and bust economy meant plenty of money at boom time. Cheap shares at bust time.

It just got too dangerous in the end. There was no career future whatsoever.
