Renewing Permesso with soon to expire visa by dkbrinker

My Permesso expires 06/05/17 but my visa in my passport does not expire until 15/07/2017. I am filling out the kit now for my renewal. Will they renew the Permesso even though the visa will expire soon? I should mention that this was for elective ...
