Originally from the UK, I have lived in Paris, Lille, Vienna, Los Angeles and London. I just moved back to Vienna with my American husband.
I joined expat.com on 08 December 2011.
Trying to figure out how to deal with a multi-nationality relationship and visas!
So much culture and history (museums, galleries, theatres, opera houses etc), friendly people, the food!, the ease of getting things done like opening a bank account (compared to French bureaucracy!), U-bahn runs all night long on Fri and Sat nights, safe city
Temperatures of -13°C, smoking, everything is closed on a Sunday
Second year of my Masters
Friendly people, great city, architecture in city centre, cheap rent, lots of students, the v'lille: pay as you go bike system, try the famous "ch'ti" food...la carbonade flamande, le Welch ;)
Year-out from Uni
A lot of things to do in Paris other than the normal tourist sites, lots of exhibitions etc to see, lots of green space, good mix of cuisine (never tried Moroccan, Lebanese or Japanese before moving to Paris!)
Bureaucracy!!, the people are not too friendly,
