Shipping tools to Colombia by Rainsfordwaters

I'm a Luthier. Is a hobby, I'm retired. I use only hand tools, they fit in a footlocker. When loaded it's heavy, ~ 125 lbs. Any advice/recommendation on shipping to Colombia?I've been reading up as much as I can online and I know it sounds expensive ...

Mr. Jones 1994

As noted previously, bringing the tools in your luggage on your next trip is a good option. One 50lb bag is usually included, and a second bag may cost $30-150 USD, depending on the airline, destination, time of year, etc. Take a picture of the ... Read More

Bancolombia - contacting a live person by jmg988

I'm living in the US but have a savings acct in Bancolombia but lost the code to my card. Without that card code I cannot talk to anyone from the bank when I call and I cannot get into my account online. Has anyone experienced this problem?

Mr. Jones 1994

This is a tough one. You usually have to go into a Bancolombia branch in person in order to reset it.There are a couple of Bancolombia branches in south Florida, in the event that you live nearby. You may be able to reset your pin there.I think you ... Read More

Mr. Jones 1994

@antonioggriffinYes, it can be done, but Colombian businesses' default expectation is that everyone has a cédula.I asked Bancolombia several times if I could open a bank account with my passport, and received an emphatic NO every time. Then ... Read More

Mr. Jones 1994

@jaycw4321That would be false. If you purchase a phone and SIM in Colombia, you can begin using it immediately. (You may have to spend a few minutes setting up the phone.)SIM cards are cheap--around $5,000 last time I purchased one--and most people ... Read More

Work opportunities for a EU Data Scientist with average / low Spanish? by Scoole

I plan to move to Colombia to be with a girl (I know I know). Just a basic 90 day tourist visa to start. We are both the same age and have known eachother for years so it's not a scam. We have met in real life. I'm going to propose to her also. So I ...

Colombian IT companies pay very little compared to Europe, USA, and other places. I think you would find yourself working very hard for very little. I recommend looking for remote work with a firm in Europe or the US. Another option: I know a ... Read More

I recommend traveling around on your first visit (you can stay up to six months on a tourist visa) before making a decision. Visit several places--both urban and rural-- and take your time exploring them. Likewise, you may want to visit places such ... Read More
