Holiday/retirement property by ppanico38
Hello allMy first post as we are considering buying a property for holidays then retirement. We don't as yet speak bulgarian so looking for advice from anyone who has done or doing this? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
@gwynjWe are planning to visit to see if it suits us for retirement as there is so much the government in UK is doing to make life difficult for pensioners. I do have a few concerns which will make our final decision. One is loose dogs and animals ... Read More
Anyone in or near Batak? by RachelG1980
My dad is coming over end of March to stay in Batak, he's wondering if there are any English speaking people living in Batak or nearby who would possibly meet for a coffee and a chat whilst he's there? Also, does anyone know how to go about getting ...
@JimJi follow a YouTube channel and they have lived in Bulgaria for many years but hadn’t been aware of costs until he needed a hip replacement and although his hospital costs were covered, the parts weren’t and the hip was very ... Read More

Can you pay for private health insurance and if so is it like BUPA where it increases with your health and age conditions or like the French where it’s just a general price. Read More

I know a strange question but I do love dancing and in France I joined local traditional dance troops and we would dance at Fetes and old people homes and wondered if they have anything similar?

As we have a dog we would prefer to drive rather than leave her in kennels but it doesn’t look like a straightforward drive.Any suggestions?
Thank you. My dog is used to long travel in the car. We done 2,500 mile trip in France visiting friends, neighbours and dancing 😀 last year. We stop regularly and France is easy with aires. Are there similar type stops en route? Read More

100% Taxes by jeanmandredeix
Is anyone concerned about the 100% taxes being brought in in Spain, France and Portugal? This could be concerning if Bulgaria takes this up and the EU is pushing for them to put up taxes in general.
@SimCityAT Actually I mentioned it only because it is the EU pushing to increase taxes and the government. We just don’t want to jump out of frying pan into fire so we are doing lots of research, not only in Bulgaria, as we must make the right ... Read More

Quick question- How long to complete property by jeanmandredeix
Could you tell me the average time to complete on your property once you’ve found it?
Sounds similar to France. Is it because all the family have to agree to the sale? We didn’t have a bad experience there, but knew that if one family member would not sign then you were stuffed. Read More

@josephsaad44No, we haven’t found one yet. We are planning a visit soon and are working out what areas suit us in regard to climate and price too. Don’t want to rush into anything but do feel we need to get out of UK asap. Read More

Could you tell me the average time to complete on your property once you’ve found it?
@josephsaad44No, just a general question. I thought it went into a general section. It’s just that I would want to be in a property to start work on it by summer, as it would be slower in the cold months. Read More

Hi all, I'm needing my water reconnected as there is no meter at present. I'm getting nowhere with the estate agent who have supplied me the name of the company they think I need... vik-pleven.com.I've contacted them but to no avail .Any ideas ??
Can the bore holes be a waste of money? I saw that someone had one done and it contained too much copper so it was only fit for watering crops. Read More
