Our adventure begins! Hubby has been working in NZ since 5 June, and I arrived on 3 August. We have a new home we're moving to on 25/26 August, we have a post box, one vehicle (and working on getting a second), all I need is a permanent position, and then we can really get going! I joined expat.com on 29 February 2012.
Kiwi culture, a beautiful country, trust (roadside fruit or honey), self checkouts at the supermarket, freedom, appointment on merit, low unemployment rate, strong economy.
Very stressful prolonged costly immigration process cannot be good for your health!
Pilates, The Freshwater Pearl Bead Shop, Shopping, Max and Family stuff
Gonubie is beautiful, a small resort on the east coast. People are very friendly.
Housing very expensive, rates and taxes are ridiculous! Traffic (well what traffic when you've lived in CP and JHB) but the roads need upgrading! Crime well what's not to say??? Groceries? Love it, but need a change from the Spar?! Come on Checkers/ Pick 'n Pay???
Visited in 2008 and since then have started with the immigration process; hubby has secured a position in Auckland and now the process can get under way in full swing!
Everything but then we also loved every thing we saw :-).. vibey coffee shops, loads of family stuff to do
Didn't see too many shopping malls (eish)...
