So far waiting to get my personnummer in order to start with Swedish lessons, get a bank account and a doctor - the necessary stuff! - enjoying soaking up the friendly Swedish atmosphere.
Uppsala is a lovely-looking city, managing to feel cozy despite being the fourth largest city in Sweden. It's so clean here and full of colour, I can wait to go across the river and explore the culture!
Expensive, but you get quality for what you pay.
I was able to focus on myself, as I spent the latter period rarely leaving the house due to all the unfriendliness in the city.
Brilliant storms in summer; Old Town picturesque and inviting in Summer and Winter.
Not many people spoke English, and few with much fluency - not a fault of theirs, just made it difficult. Generally, people were very unfriendly and rude once they realized we were foreign and had yet to learn Polish - some were outright hostile toward my boyfriend for looking 'different'. Most were also homophobic, getting angry at the mere suggestion someone might be homosexual. Oh, and terrible 90s fashion, but understandable if you think about it.
