I have traveled most of the country and now live in Higashi-Totsuka, Yokohama. I want to get involved with teaching business English, some voluntary work and continue to travel in Japan. We will be attending the winter festival in Sapporo feb 2014
I LOVE Japan, especially Yokohama. I live a few minutes from the train station and everything is close and convenient. The people are friendly and I walk the streets by myself with no fear and good cheer.
The only thing I have a problem with is age discrimination for women. My wife applied for a part time job at a coffee shop and they were interested until they asked her age. She told them she was 58 and they immediately told her all the positions were filled. This was for a shop that hasn't even been built will not open until the end of Feb. That wouldn't happen in the states.
