Expat experience
Studying Spanish. Volunteering as a nurse at a clinic and day care. Teaching English classes. Working with surgery teams from the USA.
This is the first place I have really felt at home. Every day I am challenging myself to learn new things and be creative with my talents while doing meaningful work. Latin dancing every weekend is a definite plus as is the beautiful weather and tranquil location.
In a word: Machismo
My home...So many wonderful friends and family. Worked as a nurse with cancer and orthopedic patients for four years.
Blues dancing, arts community, free expression and individuality, beautiful nature.
That people don't appreciate what they have and always want more.
Studying drama and writing. Learned to salsa dance and to be independent.
The sense of freedom. It was the first place I had been where no one knew me. I had the opportunity to live life without the expectations of others.
Being sick all the time...so wet and cold!
