I am a h.s. spec. ed. teacher and I'm set to retire next year. My son is currently 10 and he has a learning disability. I was a peace corps volunteer (3 yrs. in Togo, West Africa). My son's disability affects his ability to process information, and he has a stuttering problem as well. We took him to China twice for stem cell treatments and the affects were very positive, i.e., he is now reading just a little below grade level. Math remains an issue. I am adamant about providing the best possible life for him, away from the hectic lifestyle and competitive culture found in the U.S. I love the tropics and since Belize is an English speaking country, I believe it's the place for us. The culture is more compassionate and that's exactly what he needs.
