Transferring Money by bijou44

I have recently moved to Mauritius from the UK and originally brought cash with me to exchange here, to get the best exchange rate. My problem now is the cash has dried up and I need a way to get the remainder of my savings, in the UK, into ...

Dominic

Hi bijou, I use my lloyds and santander cards to withdraw money at atms or bank counters. You do need to get in touch with your bank to ask them to unlock your cards so you can use them abroad. The exchange rate I have with the bank is Rs50 per ... Read More

Dominic

Hey Gurj, I'm not sure how you tried to get these info. But I usually ring the reception, who directs me to the reservation and I get all the details I need off them in a matter of minutes. Read More

Roti, Dholl Puri, or Farata?! by CourtinUSVI

Okay, we've been here an entire year now and I'm a bit ashamed to admit I continue to be 100% confused by the difference between these three! I LOVE to eat them, but never sure which one I am ordering. I think one might have a more "floury" kind ...

Dominic

Hi Court! :) From what I know Roti and Farata (it's also known as chappati in india) is the same thing and that's the one which is a ''floury kind of bread'' as you put it. Whilst dholl puri is the yellow wrap usually made with dholl (yellow split ... Read More

urgent. police certificate / certificate of morality from Mauritius by mcanada

Bonjour, i need a police certificate for immigration, i need to know if it the same police certificate and certificate of morality. or it's diffrents paper and which office i need to asked for it. thanks you.

Dominic

I don't think it makes any difference as long as it states whether or not you have a criminal record. We applied for my husband's residency permit last month and used a CRB (morality certificate) as it was quicker to get than a police check. Read More

I didn't know there was a gym upstairs but yes it's the clinic on your left before the traffic lights when you're coming from Grandbay. They are closed between 12 and 2pm but the staff there is very good. Hope that helps! :) Read More

Can anyone help/advise me as to what to do? My husband and I are both British. We married in Mauritius. Live in UAE. Do we need to divorce in Mauruitius or can we divorce in UK or UAE? Thank you in advance.
