I arrived in June 2010 with my husband to live in Phnom Penh where I'm working as an English Resource Advisor for an NGO as well as writing freelance articles about travel, food, experiences and adventures in Southeast Asia. I am a former journalist and have completed a book about living in Cambodia - http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BX5FWJU - as well as a book about traditional Cambodian desserts.
I joined expat.com on 13 March 2010.

My husband and I moved from Marblehead, Massachusetts, to relocate to Phnom Penh to volunteer with NGOs in the city. I am British and worked as a journalist in South Africa and presently doing freelance articles for a variety of publications and websites in SE Asia.
The incredible warmth and hospitality of the people, discovering the many hidden gems among the chaos of the streets, riding tuktuks through the city, exploring the wonderful markets filled with brilliant silks and interesting artefacts.
The chaos of the traffic (which actually grows on you) and some of the unpleasant smells around some of the streets.
Went on vacation and ended up moving there and working at Club Med for 6 months.
Lived here for six years and started a dining guide after working in PR for an open air music festival
Finished my schooling and worked on The Star newspaper as a reporter.
I lived in Bahrain and went to school there till I was 16.
