禁漫天堂

I have been living in New York city for 8 years and am considering taking a 6 month gig singing and playing piano at a hotel just outside of Kyoto. Although I am eager to be submersed in a totally different culture, I am wanting to get a sense of what kind of community exists for English speakers, such as myself. The gig I'm lined up to do is 6 nights a week, but I'd like to explore the possibility of playing other later night gigs, or what can be done musically during the day i.e. recording, collaborating with other musicians, any other day gigs in hotels or restaurants. AND I will simply be in need of friends so I want to get a head start!! :)
