Unfortunately probably gonna have real difficult time with this I wish you luck but I would suggest you could leave at least four to five months in advance to book with these guys and it's not easy even after that you have to stay up all night trying to find when they release the appointment

They released appointments today for Rabat. but they cancelled it as soon as i booked the date in May. anyone knows what can i do next

Hi everyone, I have an appointment next week 23/04 Tuesday at the British embassy in Marrakech. I have changed the spelling of my name in the uk officially legally. How can i contact the embassy to change the spelling of my name? i cant find the email they sent me and i only have a screenshot of it so cant open a link to edit?

Another day another cancellation do they only accept people on Tuesday's as it's says 0 appointment on Tuesdays but unavailable on the other days.

They cancelled my appointment for 14th May.

What do I do?

I have booked flights and have all my documents ready?

I'm devastated.

Im sorry to hear im on the same boat.  tomorrow morning call your local registry and explain to them you getting married abroad they will book an appointment for you. it will take 30 days for you to receive the letter

@Mo Nesta why did they cancel your appointment?

How soon will they book an appointment? Is it months? Do they book on the phone when I call tomorrow or when the 30 days have passed?

@Yasmin21 im sure you can go to rabat as they did the same to me and then when i arrived i went to the office and they said i can go there and get it done on the same day

@Xxscotlssxx allhamdulillah. I am very grateful for your message. I have made another appointment for July but this does not help. I have messaged them and will call this morning.  When they cancelled your appointment did you call them? I don't want to make a wasted trip to find they cannot see me.

Do the embassy in Rabat not pick up calls? Operator option keeps ringing out. I'm calling 212537 633333

Same, wallahi they cancelled my appointment as well. I’m infuriated!! I had already booked my flight, and now that’s gone to waste. This is dhulm!!! How can they get away with this!!. They need to be held accountable.

There’s no point me requesting a CNI from the registrar. That will take a further month

@Aa.Guest can't we just turn up? Its bad, I don't know what to do. Like you I have all documents ready, paid for the flights etc. No one is picking up or answering my email. Its atrocious. Really, I'm inclined to just turn up. How dare they just cancel people's appointments. I only booked one too.

@Xxscotlssxx they cancelled my appointment for July too. When was your appointment? Has it passed? Did they accept you the same day of your actual appointment and what was their reason for cancelling.

If you could let us know as there are a few of us having the same experience and are inclined to attend our appointments as planned even though they cancelled them.

@Yasmin21 cancelled May 14th as well as July which I booked after the cancelled date. So there's no point in re booking if they are going to cancel them.

Hi, can you just turn up in a Week Day without an appointment?

@SiriusBlack they will likely turn you away. You will find an appointment if you make the effort to check the website for marrakech and Rabat every day every hour. Refresh the page often!  Just make sure you don't book more than one appointment or they will cancel them due to duplicates and fairness to others who ate struggling to find an appointment.

Thanks, i will check and have been checking.  And how do people swap appointments? Are they not registered by name?

@SiriusBlack I gave a sister my appointment usimg my confirmation email and clicking on 'update'. I needed her email address and full name to do it and they sent her the confirmation. Not sure if there is any other way of doing this.

An update, finally got an appointment slot for October....I am hoping they will not cancel me!!!  There was one popped up for next tuesday but that is too soon as I don't even have my Certificate of Impediment yet from my local registrar.

If you want one earlier, keep checking. Glad you have an appointment. That's the main thing.

@SiriusBlack Also - you do not need a certificate of impediment to marry. The enbassy do that for you.

You don't need a certificate of impediment? I thought you do, it said that you do.  I actually am getting one, paid $50 for it already but I applied for it before i got an appointment...more than 3 months between the date of the certificate to the planned wedding in October.

So the appointing at the Embassy is for the same thing?

Has anyone got an appointment for next week, I was not aware of all these issues until I arrived in Morocco. The idea was to get married in September/2024 unfortunately I can't seem to find an appointment. Does anyone got an appointment for next week? This booking system is horrible. They should have warned us about the booking system. If I don't find an appointment, I will turn up at the embassy and see what they say. I will give you, my feedback.

The booking system is a nightmare. I booked my appointment in December - the soonest available was May. And after that appointment, there's even more to follow. Getting married in Morocco is not a simple process unfortunately.
