Great news, toufas, and thank you for the report!

Nice to see immigration back on track for their 3-day turnaround on people's applications.

I appreciate the detailed information and suggested fill details for the residential address in Vietnam. However, I'm curious about the discrepancy. When I applied for an Evisa for my wife on 3/2/2024, the process was smooth. I received approval on 3/6/2024. For the 'Intended temporary residential address in Vietnam' field, I simply provided the hotel name (Renaissance) without specifying the full name (Renaissance Riverside Hotel Saigon), the street or ward—just the hotel name.

My application was for multiple-entry (max stay of 90 days), using a US passport.

Intended temporary residential address in Viet Nam:  Renaissance

Entry and exit:  SGN

Purpose of entry:  Tourism

Phone number (in VN):  N/A

Have you been to Viet Nam in the last 01 year?  YES

Do you have relatives who currently reside in Viet Nam?  NO

I'm curious if the responses to these questions – regarding entry and exit dates, purpose of entry, phone number in Vietnam, and recent visits to Vietnam within the last year – might be a factor leading to a potential denial.

Your wife's application appears to have been reviewed by an officer who was less strict in their interpretation of the application's instructions to provide specific details as to her intended temporary address whilst in VN.  I had written in a different thread that "...we have seen scenarios where two applicants submit their applications/pay for their eVisas on the same day, providing identical information on each of the applications regarding their intended place of residence in Vietnam, yet one applicant gets their eVisa approved while the other's application receives a "Denied. Please provide a detailed address..." notice from immigration."

and

"...it appears that some of the immigration officers reviewing the applications insist on precise details ("sticklers for detail", I called them), while other officers are applying a little more charity when reviewing a foreigner's application."

The applicants passport/citizenship, nor their choice of either single or multiple entry seems to have any bearing on the success of their application.

Provided there has not been any violation of VN immigration regulations, I doubt the applicant's answers to these questions would justify the denial of an eVisa.

The entry/exit dates are necessary, as those dates are required to be shown on the approved eVisa.

The purpose of entry is used by immigration to determine which visa is to be issued, and to determine whether all of the required documentation has been submitted with the application for it to be considered for approval for a specific visa. See here for a list of possible visas.

Providing a phone number is entirely optional.

No reports from members who have been staying here through the benefit of consecutive eVisas suggest that this might be a reason for an application's denial.
