Residency and S1

Can anyone advise me on S1 application and residency as I have a few questions.  I will be applying for my temporary residency in April and I have been told once you have applied you are able to spend over 90 days in Cyprus.  I have also read applying for permanent residency is no longer viable as it can take a very long time and is very expensive.

Can I get S1 if I am on a temporary residency?   I am in receipt of a uk state pension, do I need to make arrangements for it to be paid into my BOC account or can I continue having it paid into my UK bank.  I have put some of my savings into my BOC account so will have sufficient funds to satisfy the temp residency requirements.

I have a property in Cyprus (below 300k) and will be living there the majority of the time but will also be returning to the uk for periods of up to one month every 4 months to see family (my husband has to remain in UK for work and does not retire for another 5 years).

I want to ensure that if I have an accident or fall ill I am covered both in Cyprus and the UK.  I understand I have to take out repatriation insurance for my residency but do I also need health insurance in Cyprus even if you have S1.

What happens then if you are ill or have an accident in the UK would you still receive treatment on the NHS.  Apologies for so many questions but looking online I am unable to find the answers.  Thank you.

Apply for your form S1 and it will also cover your non pensioned husband too but make sure you ask for it for him too .. You will need to tell them your Cyprus address as they will only send the original forms to that address.. you can do all of that by email..

Owning a house here has no bearing on your residency, unless applying for fast track buying a new house in excess of€300k plus vat at the prevailing rate where permanent residency is on offer

Once you have your temporary residency for 5 years you can and are expected and obliged to apply for permanent residency.

You must be resident and have a valid S1 to apply for,  join and benefit from GESY.

As a state pensioner you would still be entitled to NHS healthcare in Uk. Had you not been a pensioner and were resident you would not normally be eligible for visits to your UK GP.

Don't forget to ask for both your new GHIC card. As part of the S1 reciprocal healthcare entitlement
