Hello guys!! We are very happy and excited because we are moving to Praia city in the end of the year!
We would like to rent a house in the shore, maybe in Cova Minhoto or somewhere else safe an quiet. What ar ethe best neighborhoods to live in there? Do you know a good realtor that could help us?
Thank you very much
Have a great amazing week ♡

Hi there,
Just a couple thoughts/comments and then a recommendation.
First, since you've been to Praia and seem to have a good sense of what you're looking for, that helps narrow things down. Now, a location like Covo Minhoto in the Palmarejo Baixo zona is pretty exclusive. To rent a place in that specific area facing the waterfront is going to be about €1.000 to €1.500 or more for a rental.
In the same area a street further back from the water, you'll be looking at €500-600 at least, and that would be unfurnished but in a newly constructed building. As you go further away from the waterfront, the prices decline to around €300 per month, but you're still within a 1-2 minute stroll to the boardwalk.
I'm not sure what your budget is, but prices above €500 are considered quite expensive for Cape Verde (excluding Sal & Boavista where rental prices are at least 50% higher).
If you opt for the areas with new construction where most working professionals & the upper classes live (Palmarejo and Cidade Velha), you can find fully furnished 2-bedroom apartments around €600-700. Unfurnished apartments in the same area would run around €300-400. In some of the apartments, you may even have an ocean view since Palmarejo sits up on a hill and the ocean is not more than 1-1.5 kilometers away. So the main beach in the city (Kebra Kanela) is just a 15 minute walk away.
Besides Palmarejo, I would also suggest you consider Achada Santo António. It's nearer to the downtown heart of Praia, but it's an older neighborhood with older construction. But since it's smaller than Palmarejo, rental prices are about the same.
Recommendation: You don't need a real estate agent to find rental accommodation. You'll end up paying €50 more per month unnecessarily. I can help you find good, suitable rentals in the area that best meets your requirements.
But if you are interested in purchasing real estate, I can recommend a trustworthy, LICENSED realtor. In Cape Verde, working with trustworthy professionals is key. Otherwise, you'll simply waste valuable time working with unqualified, unprofessional people.
