Proof of Disability for a Dependents Pass?

Post new topic

Hi. I'm applying for a dependents pass through my Kenyan husband. Does anyone know what kind of proof they will accept for disability? I mean, I'm obviously physically disabled and walk with a cane, but is there any US document that would be proof enough for the Kenyan government? I don't want to have to spend extra money to go to a Kenyan doctor. I have surgery reports and medical reports, I have my handicap truck license plate, but somehow I don't think they will accept any of those. Any suggestions? Has anything worked for any of you? Thank you.

Hello,

It seems that you have to get an official report from a government hospital in Kenya :

Try to give a phone call to a local hospital nearest to where you are staying to enquire.

Actually, it turns out that the rules are different for foreigners than for Kenyans. Kenyans need official documentation, but for a Dependent's Pass, the foreigner does not need to prove any disabilities. Instead, the Kenyan documents it in their cover letter and affidavit, just by listing them out. That serves as proof enough for the Dependent's Pass. However, I should note that the process was much easier with an attorney then when doing it ourselves.
