Hi all,
is it difficult for expats to open a bank account in Benin ?
Which documents are required to open a bank account in Benin ?
How long does it take to open it ?
Is there any restriction for expats regarding the services (loans for instance)Â ?
Which bank would you recommend ?
Thanks in advance for your participation,
Julien
how can we open our company bank account in Cotonou,Benin and which bank will be best advised?
Hi,
Opening an account in Benin is not that hard. Some banks will open a Personal Savings Account for you once you produce your international passport as well as you country's embassy card (issued by your country's embassy in Cotonou).
Some, however would request that you also bring the 'Carte de Sejour'. This is the resident permit issued by the Immigration Service in Cotonou.
I particularly like the Banque Atlantique, but, There are other equally good banks: Ecobank, UBA, Diamond, SGB, Orabank, Bank of Africa (BAOA).
This is hoping this Information is of some help.
Cheers!

TO open bank account r you need your resident card in french carte de séjour or your passport. for the company account you must open the company and add your registry of trade. this registry is delivered to you when you setup your company.
