Good list, lets see. I have been here about 21 months:
- Chamarel - Seven Coloured earth
Done, a bit dull if I am honest. In the end, its earth... which is coloured...
- View Sea Corals (glass bottom boat @ BlueBay)
- Snorkelling in blue bay
One of my favourite things to do, would do every weekend quite happily.
- Scuba diving around the island
Done my Open Water but then various ear problems have prevented more diving. Hope to do more soon.
- Submarine ride
Great from a 'ohh I am in a submarine' type of thing, not that great for seeing stuff under the water if, as I know you are, you are a diver. I would say go and do it though, how often do you get the chance to go in a real submarine...?
- Para sailing
Good, if short and expensive, fun.
- Casella wildlife park (recommended for Quad biking)
Not done the quad biking but the lion/tiger encounter is the best reason to go. Only did the 15 minute one but worth every penny. Again, just how many chances do you get to stroke a real live lion and tiger?! The rest of Casella is very pretty and interesting too.
- Crocodile and Tortoise park (for sitting on Tortoise and holding crocodile in hands)
Very enjoyable, the tortoises are amazing, they look 1000s of years old. Didn't get to hold a crocodile though.
- Visit Botanical Garden and check out on Tree that Bleeds blood.
Done.
- Catamaran ride to another island (recommended is Gabriel and Ile de passe in south)
Ile de Gabriel cat trip is a great day out, recommended.
- Night clubs open on Weekends (recommended Grand baie and Flic en Flac)
Hmm nightclubbing here has not been that impressive so far, although the MOS party was fun
- Hiking (recommended Le pouce, Lion mountain and Piton @National forest)
Le Pouce is a great walk with amazing views at the top. Not done the others. Yet.
- Gambling, casinos and Horse racing is legal in the country.
Been to the horse racing, good fun. Go into the middle bit to get the atmosphere and have a small bet - managed to come out up a bit the first time and down the second time, but at a few 10's of Rupees a time, it doesnt have to be expensive.
Where is the swimming with dolphins...? Amazing experience. Also, Kitesurfing?
So, looks like lots left to do!
- 365 Drive of the entire country
- 24 coloured earth, with 4 waterfalls (better than 7 coloured, less commercialised)
- Visit more than 10 waterfalls
- Tea plantation (Bois cheri, you can visit the tea factory, if tea lover)
- Under sea walk
- Sky Diving
- Ganga talab visit
- Le Val (natural Spring water, drive is amazing to this place)
- Mini Aquarium (having sharks in it)
- Whistling Rock (a natural wonder in Ocean, called Le Soffleur)
- Fox flying (or Zip Lines @ St Felix)
- Volcano visit
- Visit to Deer hunting grounds
- Hidden and isolated Beaches (way to reach is through sugar canes or internal roads)
- Visit an operational Light house (having breathtaking sunset and visit caves too, beneath, a bit risky place)
