Post new topic

Hello,
My name is Rince. I am a nurse by profession. I would like to know some details as I am moving to Denmark.
I request you all who live in Denmark to give some advice regarding my doubts.
I just summerised some of my doubts below:-

1.I would like to know the opportunities for nursing profession in Denmark.

2.Also I would like to know the salary range (pay scale) for a nurse who is having experience of 3.5 years both in Government Hospitals and in Private Hospitals

3.If I am getting a pay of 20000 Danish Krone per month, is that enoungh to live in Denmark?

4.My consulting agent is saying, I will be getting tax free income. Is that right?

5.What all precautions and preparation I have to take before moving to Denmark?

Thanks in advance
Rince

NRS

Hello Rince,

Welcome to Denmark

1. Nursing opportunity is good and always in wanted services list in denmark. (eventhough I heard it has slow down during couple of mnths)..

2. Average salary will be about 20 to 25k per month in public hospitals.

3. 20k per month after tax is good enough to live in denmark(assumption 2 adults)

4. I am not sure about the same. I can check up with my friend whose partner is in nursing service.

5. It depends on where you come from.
i)You require danish communication skills,
ii)warm clothing,
iii) look out for aparment near to your workplace both furnished and unfurnished are available in the market

Thanks NRS.. The information given is useful for me.

I knew that there is tax which is much higher (around 40%).

It would be nice if I know how is the wheather conditions.

NRS

Hi Rin,

Most welcome !!

Yes tax is much higher...however you get lot of other benefits like free medical service, subsidised education for kids, etc.

Climate, its good between april to september. Its not so good between October to March...cloudy, cold, rainy weather as far as you cover up your body completely, it is manageable !!

hi please help me
Hi, I badly need help and advice. I am a nurse from Philippines and now I am in denmark together with my girlfriend. We applied for student visa and was granted a residence permit until December 31, 2010. It is very difficult to get a working visa to DK from my country. So what we did was, we enrolled in a folkschool here in grinsted. Before we go here we have already sent our diplomas and other nursing papers to sundhedsstyrelsen and we were granted a temporary autorisation. But we have to find a hospital were we can have a trial period of 6 months, once we are finished with the trial period and gets a positive feedback, we can get permanent autorisation. And of course we have to learn the language. so we applied for a student visa and was granted
It has been 7 months that we are jobless, we have worked for 5 years in the hospital before. we have sent an applications to almost all hospitals and some plejecenters but no luck... Right now we are on a praktik (gratis) in plejehjem. ItÂ’s really really hard. In addition to that my mom who lives here for 13 years became pensionist and she only gets 6 thousand kroner from kommune. IÂ’d like to ask for help and advice on what to do. How can we extend our visa? 3 months leftÂ….please helpÂ…. we are willing to take any job as long as we can stay and get money and take care of my mom... Godbless to allÂ…

Hello,
Saw this topic and I'm curious should I ever want to move there. As a nurse with 6 years experience (2 in a blood test lab, and 4 in a dental clinic), and EU citizen, what are my options? Tbh I'm not a big fan of hospitals so I'm curious if I can find something similar. Have no problem learning the language too.
Any advice is appreciated.

I link to Dansk Sygeplejeråds web site as I think you can find all necessary information.

I see that the assessment takes its time, nearly a year - at least at the moment.

As you'll find, speaking and understanding Danish is a must. This will be an obstacle, economic and practical as you have to find another living for the first time.

Maybe, a private agency will be of use? I have found the agencies via a simple google search why I cann't vouch for them.

I also link to these information sites from two university hospitals.
