French bakery opened in Dahra

Post new topic

Palachakh

A new French bakery has recently opened in Dahra Souq area. It is called Maazim. They have really nice cakes, brown bread, croissants, chocolates and many more. The staff speaks English and French. As they told me the bakery is one of the French chain, the most staff are French and Swiss (for the chocolates).

It is located in Jamahiriya Str., if you stop approx. where Dahra is. Bon appetit!

I couldn't find the place yesterday. As you drive up Jamahiriya Street from Quadisiya roundabout towards the harbour, where is it? Anywhere close to the Dahra supermarket?

cheers

Sorry, Sandman, I am not the best adviser as to the directions.

If you drive from Janzour and to Jamahiriya (I have no idea if this is practicable, but to clear the direction at least ;)), you pass the Russian school on the left (if it will help :), the former location, now they are moving), then there will be a pizzeria and a sport shop on the left (or the other way round, the shop and then the pizzeria), after a kind of Governmental stuff away to the left - a high building, and then the bakery. It has big transparent windows, so you'll see the cakes and all that. I don't remember if they have a sign or anything to recognize themselves - not yet maybe. And the general colour of the decor is somewhat red. As you pass it, immediately you'll see the mosque on the "hill" on the left and then the crossroad, where you are supposed to turn left if you want to get to Dahra.

It is a long explanation, overloaded with the details, still hope it'll help.

So, are they issuing visas to Swiss chocolatiers now?Ìý :P

Thanks for the info, will check it out.

Folks, don't forget that the new supermarket in Palm City will be open soon, talked to the owners, they will have fancy cheeses, meats, fresh fish and other "high end" food stuffs (imported obviously) for sale aswell as toiletries etc. Don't know if /how the gen pop can get in. If you know somebody who lives there it won't be an issue.

Yes, it was one of the best in Tripoli, but like many other good places here they start to compromise the quality of their products!
IÂ’m not sure if it was just to get the custom or they are simply getting greedy!  A tuna sandwich costs around 2.50LYD, i really did not mind at the time, as it was a big loaf and plenty of filling, recently the size has gone significantly smaller with less toping!!
It is soooooo sad to see yet another half decent place go down the same way as its predecessors.

If it's going to be what it sounds like it's going to be, then getting the logistics of this thing straight is gonna be paaaaainful!! Pity the poor soul who'll get stuck with it.

Precisely what I thought.

Palachakh, you're like the Good Food Angel. Thank you for the tip.

The name is Maazem, and it is about 100 meters past the Spanish embassy; on the same side of the road leading towards Fashloom/Zaweat Al Dahmani.
