Hello,

Someone could tell me what's really intereting about Laos in general?

Thank you,

stumpy

Friendly people. Laid back lifestyle. Relatively cheap living. Good schooling for children. Great beer and food.Ìý

Great place to visit.

Not at all easy to find a job.
In the field of expertise that you work in it would be virtually impossible unless you had a Lao partner and set up a business.
Beauticans and cosmeticians are a dime a dozen.

If you were lucky enough to find a job it takes time and money to get a work permit and visa. You can only enter as a tourist on a single entry 30 day visa. Business visas require a letter from your business partner or company before it can be issued.

The language spoken is Lao. Rents start from $200 a month up to $2000 a month depending on your lifestyle and the area in which the accommodation is located. I suggest you look online by putting in 'real estate Vientiane' and you can check out prices.

You can eat cheaplyÌý by going to local noodle shops at around $2 for a good size bowl. Beer is $1 a large bottle. Electricity prices depend on whether you have airconditioning or not. Recommended you do as it gets hot and humid. I pay $150 a month for my place which has 4 a/c's which only get used at night in the bedrooms.Ìý

It is a safe place for women but like anywhere you have to be aware of where you are when out and about. Map of Vientiane Ìý
To find out cost of living prices just put ' living costs laos ' into your search engine.

You would have no chance of finding a business partner in cosmetics. As I said in my previous post it is local people doing it. So it would be of no benefit to you to invest in the industry.

If you are so keen on Laos then I suggest you come over for a month and look around and see for yourself.

As for doing any kind of business there you must be there 24/7 to keep an eye on things.

Don't even bother looking at investments online as they are usually a rip off.Ìý

Sorry to be so blunt but it is very easy to look at things through rose colored glasses and then the reality is that it is not always as you would expect it to be.
