Approach the labor office / jawazat directly and they will assist in the transfer even if the sponsor is not releasing you.

Dear HRGuru,

I have a query regarding profession change.

I am working as Software developer in an IT firm in jeddah. I  am on azad visa. So i want to change my sponsorship to my new company.

But when i ask for the sponsorship change, my new company told me to change the profession first. bezoz my profssion in iqama is "electrician in construction site". So my new company want me  to attest my degree certificate to start transfer process, so that they change sponsorship and profession in one shot.

But, if sent my certificate for saudi embassy attestation now, it will take at least one month to complete, by that time the grace period will be over.

I read your guideline regarding changing profession to "Labor" temporary and change later to real profession. I am also planning to do the same now.

Can you name any of the computer related profession(s), which does not require attested certificate ??

Thanks in advance
Najum

Most professions require certificates, you have to see what is your priority as of now - to change sponsorship or change of profession. If to change sponsorship - first move to labor and then change the profession, mean while get your certificates attested and once you have them change again. Or you can check to see if you change to "Mubarmaj Haasib Ali - Computer Programmer" or Mahlil Nilam - Systems Analyst" or "Mutawer - Developer".

Dear All,

I would like to share my personal experience with sponsorship transfer and profession change.
I am working as an accountant. Earlier my profession in iqama was Mason. When I tried to transfer to present company they insist me for change my profession first as it is a rental company.
But my sponsor was in white category and he cannot do that .

Finally with the new liberalized rule my company was ready to start my sponsorship transfer and they could easily change my sponsorship transfer and profession (online) last week. Now I hope this week I will get my new iqama also.

Best wishes to all

Dear Sir,

I need your help to understand the transfer process..can someone clarify the below.

I got release letter from my sponsor(3 letters attested by chamber of commerce) and given to my company. Now my company is telling that my sponsor has to do some online approval for release. when i check with my sponsor he never heard about such process.

Can someone help me to understand this..

Is it required sponsor approval(online) to get release?

What is this online approval process?

I am waiting your suggestion in this matter please..

Alternatively your new sponosr or his PR / GR/ Mandoob can take all the required normal papers to jawazat / maktab al amal and process it as well.

Thank you HRGuru..

Dear Vishnukumar,

Regarding online transfer approval my case My old sponsor was in white category. So he couldn't do anything online.
But he went directly to Labor/Javasat and done his approval for my release.

Wish you all the best

It is good to take advantage of the grace period on several levels - one you need to pay the required govt fees for change of profession and transfer will be done even if your sponsor refuses to release you since he is in white category. After the grace period the restrictions will start - -you will need attested certificate for transfer and fees has to be paid and also you might end up so late that there is risk of being caught and deported.

The decision has to be made by you, to travel now and loose this opportunity or to stay and fix things before you leave.

Yousufquadim

My dear, I cant tell you to miss your sisters wedding and neither can I give you advice to go and attend and then fall into a problem later. You need to make the decision now since you now know the facts and the process. If you can correct the situation now, its saving money and putting you in a safe situation. Once you come back we dont know what new rules will be in place from labor office and jawazat. As for the rush it will be there even at that time , I promise you that.

Walaikum salam,

Under normal circumstances you need either the diploma or bachelors certificate - attested as well in order to do the profession transfer. Avail the grace period benefit and change the profession as of now without paying the govt fees and with your diploma certificate.

Walaikum salam,

If your kafeel is in red then you can get the transfer easily done under the grace period. Please approach the new company with the release papers at the earliest.

Are you sure he is in white - you said red in your earlier post.

Under nitaqat - new program for saudization in companies there are several categories under which a company will be assigned based on the required saudization % set by the govt.

Excellent / Platinum - If the company is 75% or more in saudization
Green - If the company satisfies the required %
Yellow - If the company is less than the required %,
Red - If the company does not satisfy or meet the required %
White - companies with less than 10 employees and no saudi

Please go with your old kafeel  and new kafeel or demand letter from a new company in green to labor office and jawazat and he can give you the release and your transfer and iqama can be done at the same time.

You need to go to jawazat and they will use the temp visa number given to you at the time of arrival to use this to change the sponsorship transfer. Ideally this should happen, if not take a letter from your current kafeel saying that I am releasing this employee passport # and who arrived under visa # and then take this letter to maktab al amal / jawazat.

My personal advice - don't come at all in such visa.

Now to answer your query - better to come before the deadline of 3 July and get iqama made and then change to accountant in the company in jeddah. Problems in this approach - you don't know the nitaqat status of the company, you cannot hope to get the iqama from the company in qassim in time and you might end up staying with the sponsor in qassim for 2 yrs as a mason and you cant work as an accountant in Jeddah. Time is a factor here since we are already on 15 June.

If you wait after 3 July, you still arrive as mason in qassim, and no change possible for 2 yrs.

I am assuming your query is about profession change from labor to accountant, if you have attested certificates go ahead and do it, no issues.

Better to change in to Engineer, also depends on the company business. If its allowed in the company business then change to engineer , if not keep the same .

Thank you HRGuru,

I am going to travel on 27 June. As you told things are not good for me, but I have no choice to be in Pak. I have to be there. Thanks for your suggestion.
One more thing, What documents are required for accountant visa and from where it should have been attested. So i can manage it before i leave.

Dear Guru,
I am Psychologist, and have been working in Government University for five years as a Professor.
Just few weeks back I was offered a Job by a rich family to help their three special needs children.
I accepted the offer and they issued my new visa as private consultant.
I requested my University to help me with Iqama Transfer as i wanted to avoid the hassle of going back to home country and coming back on new visa.
After fulfilling the requirements, University gave me an NOC to transfer my Iqama to the family that offered me a job.
I gave new family (mother of children) NOC from Uni and my original Iqama and passport.
I have already resigned from University and my contract is finished since last week.
They checked with some people in immigration or passports and just let me know that it is not possible to transfer my iqama to a lady particularly since I am a professor.
They asked me to go to home country and come back with new Visa.
My family is already left few days back on exit re-entry visa to spend their summer holidays in home country.

I have following questions
1) What do you think, Is it possible to transfer my Iqama to this lady (mother of children)? If yes how?
2) If not, what if I go and come back on a new Visa so how my family will come back as they left the country on my previous visa status.
3) Why Jawazat object when my previous employer has already given me NOC to transfer my Iqama.

Would appreciate your quick reply as I need to decide for next step in couple of days.
Best Regards
