Ewww creep! @legacy Is there a way where expat-blog can implement some sort of screening process before joining?

Julien

tinataitlyn > that's a good suggestion, but how could we possibly do that ?

tinataitlyn

I have no idea to be honest but there are plenty of sites (sales mostly) that are invitation based where someone who's already a member can invite others or the person wishing to join has to answer a few questions and if then placed on a "waiting list" to be screened and are then contacted via email with a link that allows them to create a log in.

I don't know even about to go about doing so but I think it would help deter people joining just for the sake of being creepy. If someone has to answers why they would like to become a member and what they think they could contribute to expat-blog maybe they'll second guess it? Just a thought :)

@ tinataitlyn: Please feel to share your suggestion on the forum Help us improve the website: /forum/viewforum.php?id=11:)

The role of ½ûÂþÌìÌà is to help people deal with important issues in their lives. Most of these issues are in the public domain. A couple of creeps (a fact of life to put up with) should not dictate how easy it is to share info on the blog. A bit more moderation should do the trick. I suggest having some kind of a "Creeptometer" with a scale from wise to creep on each post where people vote a post based on it's content. (I'm so sleepy I hope I'm making since).

Ribosom

That is a good idea, something like community-moderated system that works wonders elsewhere. For example, in addition to recommending a post the reader should be able to downvote it as well, and the posts with a certain numbers of negative votes could be hidden by the visitor.
