hello friends,
i am coming to erbil soo. Please advice me about the housing mainly and how much usd is enough for a person since i am offred the package which includes housing, food and transportation.
Thanks a lot
depends on whether you are looking for a furnished house or unfurnished one , generally to get a decent unfurnished house in the city it will range from 1,000 USD to 2,000 USD , and bear in mind that most of the landlords will ask for advance rent payment from 3 to 6 months , and you will need to pay for furniture as well.
I hope this helps
thanks a lot mahmoud, please give me an idea if i can find a sharing accomodation since i am coming alone only, the other thing what you wrote 1000 to 2000 usd, is it for one room apartment or more. Please advice what approx. Cost of food and transportation will be.
Appriciated your help and advice.
Regards,
shakeer
you can rent an unfurnished house with an amount from 1,000 to 2,000 , you can get a furnished apartment for 1,000 or 1,200 but will be a bit rare to find a floor in a house (apartment) , regarding transportation cost it is about $4 per trip, price per meal can range from $5 to $20 , depends on the quality , average daily expenses can range from $20 to $40
appriciated your tips here mehmoud. My grave concern here is housing which seems a bit expensive. Is it possible to share a accomodation with some one living bechlor which may reduce the cost i.e like some one living in 2 or 3 bedroom apartment and can share a room to divide the cost
regards,
could be done , but you need to find someone looking for a roommate

Hey Virginie,
To answer your following questions:
1) American village and English village, I don't think its that far at all. Erbil is not such a big city, so you should be fine.
2) Driving license I have the UAE one. UAE driving license is valid therefore you are allowed to drive in Iraq.
I hope that the answers have helped you out. Have a nice evening.
Regards
Omar
thank you so much I feel I will be happy in erbil cause really it s hard to leave Dubai .I am worry
Dubai is Dubai, no more no less... Its different, quite and more a family sort of country here... Once you make friends you should be ok..
For a single guy that's another story, only one word comes to mind "BORNING" !!!
I use to live in Saudi Arabia in Riyadh, jeddah and khobar but I think erbil is better than ksa . at least women can drive .and I know that nothing is like Dubai but as you said I can make some good friends and the social life is nice so I think I will be fine .good night and thanks again
