Catch56

I am a photographer, I have spent some time in Italy and France. I have visited other countries also, but for short periods.
I find that I get along very well with people from Europe mainly but I like to know about different cultures.
Also as a fine art photography instructor I am always looking for new faces to photograph, so I can say meeting new people serves as a way to learn and also satisfy my passion for photography:)

hello catch 56 photography must be a wonderful passion,a great social history document,I like to read novels from good writers of the 19 century and early 20 century because they too tell me so much of the times.I love black and white photography. The difficult times we are living through now must give you much scope for inspiration, although every age seems to have had its problems. We are in Athens and certainly there are many stories to tell here through various representations. My husband and I play instruments and so we take ourselves away a little from the stress.I say a big hello from Athens and wish you well.Concertina

Hello Dear
We welcome you here
hope you will find good advices

Catch56

Hello, greetings from Malta.
Photography and Art have been with me all my life. I too love black & white and try to shoot in b&w whenever possible. I am always intrigued by old photos and although they depict times gone by, they seem so alive still. I had visited Athens, quite some time ago, Greece is a beautiful country. One wish I always had, was to do a photographic profile of some countries and Greece was one of those...but I never got that chance. We have to do what is important first, I guess.
If you have facebook, I can direct you to 2 pages with my work.
Best regards to all

Catch56

Thank you.
Hope all is well

hello catch 56,I dont do facebook, pity.I used to use old cameras years back, those with concertina pull out bit,I think the subject was upside down, difficult to use but great pictures.Theres a famous photographer who spent his life taking pictures of north American Indians,so wonderful,I forget his name.I guess your subject matter is endless.I see you are in Malta.greetings from concertina

Catch56

Those were beautiful days, we photographed and printed and we did what photoshop does in the darkroom. with digital i still try to use photoshop as little as possible and keep my images clean b&w.
Yes unfortunately I am in Malta, not much inspiration here...I would rather be somewhere else taking photos. Well that is life, people want to come here and I want to go there:)

catch 56,hello,we have a house as a cottage on the Corinthos bay near Loutraki, just built it,it is for sale, more chance of going to the moon than finding a buyer these days, loads of black money about, one guy wanted to give us old British gold one pound coins as payment, another said I have half under the mattress and half in bank, probably printed himself,so its hopeless. But what Im trying to say is that if you should want a trip here you would be welcome to stay in the house, because its a new house we are waiting for electricity,we use oil lamps when it gets dark, great fresh air and we drink the mountain water and also fill up bottles for Athens. And to tell you I was sorry to see Kodak go,my lovely Kodak,we have plenty space if you have someone to bring with you, concertina

hello from Athens, how you doin Carinajane, nice name, your in Bristol, weather is good for you I believe, great for you all to have some sunshine and swimming ,picnics etc..as you know things are tricky here, but where isnt?My husband still has his job so we muddle along, head down and wait for the next measures from Troika. We play instruments and I sing all the time,my husband tells me off for singing in the car,(stop those ballads,Ill fall asleep)a particular problem here now is that people are driving without insurance cover because no money, thousands and thousands they say, very irresponsible, best to keep a big distance from the next car,but GREEKS ARE HORRENDOUS DRIVERS.well, I send best wishes for your summer time there, greetings from concertina

Catch56

Hi Concentina,
So nice to hear from you and all this singing, you
sound like a very happy lady, dancing as well maybe?!
Where do you sing to, clubs, concert halls ?

The weather has changed here, cool and stormy, but we have
had great weather,we don't usually get any sun !
What's you weather like?

Yes I have seen Greece in the news a lot, some poor woman
throwing herself off a balcony because she had no money to
feed her children. Is it getting any better?

I am painting the house at the moment trying to sell it, we need
a smaller place, that's me and my 18 year daughter. You have children?

Look forward to talking later
Carina
