Joyeux Noël - Buon Natale - Feliz Natal - Merry Christmas ! :-)

Ho ho ho ! It's that time of the year ! :-)
What are your traditions ?

In Angola, we are very Portuguese (still) in tradition.
The 24th, we eat codfish and turkey, French toasts and loads of Christmas delicacies with the poetic names of "Rain cakes", they are fluffy and I have no idea how to prepare them ! :-) Then, at midnight, we open our gifts.
By next day, we eat "old clothes", which is only taking the left overs and making something new out of it.
It's a very nice evening, we stay at table for hours, eating, talking, laughing, even playing. It's the good time to get the family reunited for all of the updating :-) We don't put music aloud (maybe Christmas songs) very low as Christmas for us is very Family friendly. With or without gifts.

I haven't spent Christmas in Angola for the past few years, and sure miss my children's celebrations. They won't be the same anymore as my siblings are getting married and having children, celebrating their own way.
So I can't wait to have my own family :-) And I'll go to my mother to celebrate ;-)

What about you ?
What's your tradition ? :-)

Out here in Kuwait it is mostly private get togethers the main reason is that this is a Muslim country. Hence it's only Christians who celebrate Christmas and invite their Christian friends along.

Still, there is no restrictions in celebrating Christmas and it is done based on the expats country of origin(it's expats who are Christians)

We go from home to home on carol rounds during advent which is a great time to meet different people also

Still Christmas is fun here for those who have stayed here for long! :par:

Wishing you all Merry Christmas!

Merry xmas everybody!

This is the first time I am this far from my family for Xmas celebration (10,000 kms from home). But we organized a very nice "intercultural" dinner with friends :)  we were 2 french, 2 japanese, 2 namibian, 1 german, 1 colombian ... that was great!

By the way, have you ever seen Santa on the beach?
