just back from watching english premier league football at league cafe.

i can confirm that it does exist and that it's a good place to watch the soccer. very modern and comfortable and good food too, prices range from around SR 30-45 in general for most items (burgers, pizza, wraps, soup, etc).

however, the link above is not accurate for location. it's at the corniche opposite the mercure hotel.

there will be more matches on next week, hope to see some of you there! :)

How many people were there approx? i mean was it a good turnout of spectators out there or a dull boring one.. mostly local league matches have vibrant atmosphere in cafes. worth going !

Glad you liked the place. It would be great if you put the correct map location here.
Did you watch the game with English commentator?
Is it possible to change channels on individual televisions?

greenirish

there were about 12 people there watching, most of them were locals.

i wouldn't say it was a stadium like atmosphere but then it wasn't dull either.

greenirish

yes, each tv works independent of each other and we had english commentary until the last 20mins when someone decided to change it with what seemed like the master remote control.

the map on mercure's website shows the location of the hotel but even it is wrong, luckily the taxi driver knew exactly where it was.

Hi,

I am from the UK and live in Bahrain, but am currently going through my Iqama process in Dammam and will remain in KSA for this coming weekend.
I am going to stay in a hotel in Khobar during the weekend and since I am without my wife & daughter I want to take advantage to spend Saturday watching the (UK) 12:45, 15:00 & 17:00 KO matches.

I have searched on Google Maps for The League Sports Café, but it indicates online that it is now closed down.

Does anyone know if this is correct?  If so, an alternative location offering a similar situation?

Thanks
Shaun
