I am a bit choosy. this all depends upon either friends or other. but sometime this character feel like hard or selfish or tough or good. Also perfectionist - must have all perfect.  can you suggest something?

Hi,i am neither choosy nor perfectionist,i thought its very difficult to be choosy alone and even every time with perfection...life turns right left ups & downs, so i follow the basic rule act according to the situation and accept the outcome, don't know thinking bad will turn good and vice versa too....every person has their own view about life so it depends also some are choosy and some are perfectionist...

Being a perfectionist is just asking for trouble in your life that you don't need. We are imperfect people, living in an imperfect world. If we expect perfection from ourselves or from others we are going to be constantly let down because perfection just does not happen, not ever.

I only expect one thing of myself, that is that I will do the very best I can in what I do. That way, if I do my very best then I can be satisfied with the results every time. As far as other people I try to expect nothing from anyone, that way they never disappoint me.

I have much higher standards for things I do than for what I expect of others.
Some people think I'm perfectionist (it's in my German genes!).

I tend to be picky about food but that's it. I'm not a vegan, vegetarian or up into some unusual diet. Just careful about the source and quality of the food i buy.

This is very true. I know one guy who is trying to be perfectionist. He washes his hands thousand times before eating telling there is a lot of dust in the environment and in the objects we are dealing with. He checks even  fruits so many times before eating. When guys are making jokes he hesitates to give a big smile. He takes minimum time to eat and soon goes back to his work. He uses very big words to explain something to someone. (So none understands) He wears very clean and doesn't wear casual even for casual events.  Even in a leave application, using many words he is trying to explain why he needs this leave. But the worst thing is he doesn't know that  he is behaving as a joker in the society.

In my case, I am not very much choosy so I can adopt new changes in life soon. I do not highly expect many things in life but try my best to live according to  my heart beat..I trust we can be neither choosy nor perfect. Life must be lived very simply and freely.

Hello Mal
Sounds like a funny guy but not sure he is a perfectionist. Washing hands a thousand times and checking fruit and food a lot before eating is not about being a perfectionist - more that having a phobia for bacteria or dirt. This behavior is very common and sometimes it goes to extreme content. I know a guy who will not sit on a toilet, no - he is not a muslim, Turk or arab. He literally stands on top of the toilet ring to do his.... well you know.
Not only that, he brings his own filter for the faucet and tools to replace it. You know where the water comes out from the blender there is a little grid filter on the faucet blender that would filter out any dirt which may come with the water line. Well, wherever he goes he brings his own. One for work and then a collection of filters that due to different threads sizes and thread steps or NPTF or G-thread fits where he goes. My guess is he walks around with a small moneky-wrench and 10 faucet filters in his pockets at all times. This is a sad thing - he is probably very sick.
Your friend also have a usage of big words in all moments. I think that sometime in his life he did not get the attention he needed from people around him. In order to get the attention he started using special words that noone would understand or have to look up. This in order to seem more important then people around him seen him as. Now, when using these words for a while he did get attention, he got used to it and his subconcience do not want him to go back to the non-attention so he keeps having the same "big words" behavior.

For me a perfectionist is someone who wants his home and work-place in perfect order. It is not so much about cleaning ness for bacteria but more for the impression both for him or herself and also about what others would think if they seen his/her home in "bad" condition. It is about having things in order, like all the towels, sheets and shirts are folded the same way, in the same position with perfect edges. It is about having constant clean windows, it is about having a nice garden instead of a messy one, it is about always having a clean car. Or even, wash the car to put in the garage to leave for work on a bicycle so you do not have to wash the car again. Not leaving things about, when washed the car the bucket must be cleaned out and dried, the water hose must be perfectly wound up and stored in it's designated place. While washing the car one must also wax it, dry it with skin and clean it on the inside - not to forget to wet-dry all the hidden corners and edges that can only be seen when the doors ajar.
Having order on the office desk is also important, having order on all files in the computer is also important.
Clothing is important to always be not only clean but perfectly ironed, I know several perfectionist that actually iron both socks and underwear. A few times a year they iron through their whole closet on the clothes they do not use so often.

Yes it varies from person to person..I am a little choosy

DWSA

Am not perfect so I don't expect anyone to be perfect either. No one stands in your way if you want to be perfect, but don't expect anyone to follow it.

Choosy is for what you like in terms of food, people, music, sports, clothes, etc.

We just need to respect other people preferences, that's all.

Cheers,
