Today a local friend took me and a colleague to an amazing beach just PAST the Dar Talil Hotel in Sabratha (you have to hit the sand road just before the hotel, to go left around the hotel and come down towards the sea next to the hotel on the other side). We paid LYD 30 for a little "hut" made out of palm leaves for the day for my friends and me (after some negotiation, of course!!!Â
) - and had a lovely relaxing time! I saw the beach at the Talil Hotel as we passed - our beach was WAY nicer - and MUCH cheaper, I hear!!!Â
Also, the beach at Tallil Hotel was very bare and unprotected-looking, with only palm umbrellas for protection from the sun. The beach next door (where we were) is basically free (except for the hire of the hut), and you can drive right onto it, and park your car right next to the "hut", if you take one for the day. Oh - and there are various sizes, with various price tags - some even have a little covered area at the back for changing in - and quite a few poeple seem to camp there overnight!!!
