Vehicle import duties

Is there anyone that can help me with more information on how much the import duties for a personal vehicle is?

I have searched the web, and the link or two that points to a document with this type of information, is broken.

I do not own the vehicle for 12 months, so the concession will not be applicable to me.

I would really appreciate if anyone can shed some light on this.

Hi, I've also been looking into this.

From what I can find out, the Customs duty is 27 % and then VAT is charged at 12 %.聽 This is based upon the declared value of the car (including, I think, transport charges from origin to Botswana).

If the car is being driven to Botswana then Customs will take 5% of the value for transport charges.聽 There are no restrictions on age of the vehicle.
