We have lived in Fiji nearly three years now.
Eating well with occasional eating out is fairly inexpensive due to plenty of fruits and vegetables that grow here,
Bananas (several varieties), Pineapples, Guava, Passion fruit, Papayas, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, capsicum
cucumber, strawberries, cabbages, pumpkins, eggplant etc. We grow these on our property but are easily and
cheaply purchased at the market. We do not live in the city and had generator power with is costly, noisy, and
pollutes the air. We just switched to solar. In the long run, it will pay for itself. Fuel is quite expensive as are some
products. The water is generally plentiful. Weatherwise, it is hard to beat.
We can live for about $40k per year including travel back to the states twice a year.
