Post new topic

We are going to be traveling to the US soon and was wondering if anyone knows if there is a cambio that typically has the best exchange rate or if I'll just need to drive around looking.
thank you in advance.

On a post like this one you have to be very careful. That is whether the post is legit or not or if the replies are legit or not. That said, I find the best option for anyone traveling from the states to Paraguay is to use western union. DO NOT USE ATM'S UNLESS YOU HAVE TO"  they are expensive and a ripoff. Typical $300 withdrawal ($300 is the limit for US Dollars, Need $301 then you are sol, double the fees) when you withdraw you get a notice $5 fee added and a withdrawal request is now $305. Then your US bank, charges another $5 for the convenience, total $10. But wait there is also a 3% fee that the US Bank adds, chalk up another $9. Total so far $19, but it's not over yet, the Bank that owns the ATM, such as Itau, BBVA, etc also charges another fee, Itau is the worst about another $7 or so. Meaning a $300 withdrawal costs you $ 26 each and every time. Western Union on the other hand, is about $10 TOTAL if you want your money like yesterday or $3 if you can wait 2 or 3 days. If you need Guaranies and not dollars you will find that the rates are respectable. I used receive dollars and exchange at Cambios Chaco, but now I just get Guaranies Direct and save a trip and a line. Hope this helps!
