Braun hand blender advice needed

Post new topic

Hello,

I'm in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam and I'm considering to purchase a Braun hand blender here.

I did go to shops to ask (Braun doesn't have official stores here, they just sell via supermarkets or stores for baby), but their advices to me were quite contradictory. And since the staffs here usually understand that customers want to buy the blender to cook food for their baby, so sometimes they have no idea about if I just use for myself.

So I would like to ask for advices here.

You can see few Braun hand blender currently available in Vietnam are and , mostly MQ100 to MQ545.

I want to buy the one with lowest price which just can help me to blend RAW uncooked vegetables and fruits.
which can blend something hard like coconut meat or squash.

My purpose is to make: with most abundant ingredient, raw squash soup (with garlic and pepper), and blend coconut to make my own coconut oil, ...
Other functions like blend meat or nuts would be nice but not extremely necessary.
(I don't eat meat regularly).

Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

I guess you posted this in the Germany forum, hoping to find somebody familiar with the types of blender you are looking at?
Well, Braun isn't a very common brand here, and most private users will only own and know one type, so cannot compare.
Also, the requirements for making coconut oil are surely unknown to all in Germany.
I suggest you contact the maker, Braun, directly for advice. They even have a webpage in Vietnamese:

I have a Braun hand blender (not sure the type you mentioned) but I can say that the blender might not suitable for the purpose you want to use. Its more for making dressings, spreads, cutting herbs, baby food and soups with cooked ingredients.
It comes with a small bowl so you can also grind harder goods such as nuts but the power of the hand blender is not enough and the blades are small. The results are not always satisfying .

I advice you to look for a food processor. These are more suitable, have more power, better and stronger blades and you can run it longer.

Just a small advice, though I am sure you must be aware of it. Since you mentioned that Bruan does not have an official store in your city, you might want to check if the product you are buying is authentic or a copy. Usually a lot of counterfeit products are sold in Asian markets, so you might want to be mindful of that.
Good luck
