I used to play hockey at university and wanted to continue to play hockey out here, especially as I hate gyms, so had a look around.
There is one hockey club here, called the Yangon Pythons. Everyone and anyone can play, regardless of abilities, which is great, as I was a bit nervous, as I hadn't played for a fair few years! But they were very friendly and welcoming and supplied me with a stick and balls and I was away.
They also have coaching and play occasional matches against the Myanmar National team, which is an amazing experience. So there is something for everyone and it's good fitness too!
They play every Saturday at 9am at Thein Phyu Stadium, south of Kandawgyi lake.
