Dear Priscilla
I heard, it's very difficult when a foreigner get married a bhutanese women.
If they stay in Bhutan, he will never be bhutanese citizen, just resident and it's very difficult to get a resident status. :-) If they have children, they never be bhutanese citizen as well and they can never inherit a house or land from the bhutanese mother.
Even fatherless children cannot be bhutanese citizen.
The country’s Constitution says:
"A person, both of whose parents are citizens of Bhutan, shall be a natural born citizen of Bhutan."
Abortion is illegal in Bhutan, except in cases of rape, incest, mental health risks, or threats to the mother’s life. As a result, many women resort illegal abortions or cross the border into India to terminate a pregnancy.
Many greetings
Chris
