Cohabitation in DR page 2 - Dominican Republic forum

I understand that in the DR if a foreigner lives with a dominican in a sexual relationship for a period of time (3 years?) the relationship then has all the legal ramifications of a legitimate marriage. Does anyone know for certain whether this concept is fact or merely folklore? If in fact it is a fact, any way to get around it?

Wrong on a few counts. I never mention....for sex, or old/young.聽 Also, if somebody has been in such a bad relationship for awhile, he has ALREDY been paying for his mistake. My advice was about protecting himself from further victimization, eternal abuse, lifelong shakedowns.聽聽My advice is still the best so far.
