Notaires fees in France

Post new topic

Hello there, my siblings and I have inherited some properties in France. They each want to hold on to some of the properties and are buying the shares from the other two of us.
I am not interested in keeping my shares and am happy to sell as I intend to buy their shares from another property of lower value abroad.
I am happy to pay the notarial  fees for the shares of the property I am buying but my siblings are saying we should all equally share the notarial costs in every country between us.
The properties they are buying are of far more value than the one I intend to buy.
I know that in France it is the buyer who pays the notarial fees, but are there exceptions or is it a negotiable point? Any advice welcome :)

Hi, whether it is the buyer or the seller who pays the fees is negotiable. I recently purchased a property in France and when I made my offer, I specified that the sellers were to pay for all the fees.

Thanks for your reply. I’ll keep that in mind.
Hope you enjoy your property 😊
